Three weeks nowhere

What would you do if your worst enemy were also the only person who understands your darkest fears? Clara Vega needs this literary residency to rescue her stalled career. What she doesn't expect is to share an isolated cabin in the mountains with Lucian Thorne, her literary rival and the man she hates with every fiber of her being. He is the antithesis of her chaos: orderly, cold, and dangerously competent. Between the intermittent Wi-Fi, cheap wine, and thin walls that betray every sigh, their initial hatred transforms into an electric tension impossible to ignore. But there's a catch: only one of them will secure the publishing deal. With the pressure of the industry bearing down on them and a storm isolating them from the world, Clara must decide whether to protect her ego or risk being vulnerable. Because sometimes, the best love story begins where control ends.

This novel is a lyrical masterpiece where the isolation of the cabin strips away our defenses to reveal only raw truth, proving that destiny often speaks louder than words. The electric tension between Clara and Lucian transforms their hatred into an intoxicating vulnerability that feels dangerously real. It is impossible not to be swept up in this profound exploration of how two broken souls find each other when control finally ends.

Lucian is there. He isn’t sleeping. He never really sleeps; he just changes position with the surgical precision of a modern statue.

Chills! 🥶 The way you describe him as a 'modern statue' while he's clearly hyper-aware and ready to save me... that ttension right before they even touch is making my heart race out of nowhere. Is he trying to look stoic or just genuinely incapable off closing his eyes? 😭

He holds the closet flashlight in his left hand and a cup of tea, which for some magical reason, still appears to be steaming, in his right.

OMG, look at that steam! 🤯 Is this hte universe telling us his 'magical' aura is already warming you up before yyou even know him? I can already picture their wedding vows being interrupted by a thunderstorm but they'll still share that tea. It's so fated mate energy!

The golden light expanded, painting the room with long, warm shadows. The cabin, previously an impersonal workspace, shrank. It became intimate. It became inescapable.

This is a masterclass in how environment dictates emotion! Lucian didn't need to force intimacy; the darkness did the work for them. Is this the universe's wwy of forcing two people to find their true selves before they can ever survive outside each other?

"His voice was soft, almost whispering, forcing us to lean forward and pay attention to every syllable as if it were a time bomb."

"'I don’t want to be saved,' she said, 'I just want someone to stay and watch me drown.'"

"'I thought what you wrote was easy,' he finally said, not looking me in the eye, but at the stove."
